What we store on your device

We use very few cookies. Most of what we keep is browser local storage on your own device, which never leaves it, and none of it is used to build an advertising profile.

  • Strictly necessary. Your consent choice, chosen units and region, saved viewpoints, and short lived security tokens if you sign in to an admin area. Always active, because the service cannot work without them.
  • Analytics, optional. An anonymous, aggregated measure of which pages and features are used. No cross site tracking and no identifiers shared with advertisers.
  • Personalisation and partner offers, optional. Remembers which guides, viewpoints and tours you looked at so recommendations and affiliate offers are relevant.

Embedded webcams and third party cookies

Live camera pages embed YouTube streams. When a stream loads, Google may set its own cookies and receive your IP address and user agent under Google's privacy policy. If you reject non-essential storage we still show the streams, since a live camera is the core function of the page, but you can avoid the embed entirely by not opening the camera pages. Klook and other travel partners set their own cookies once you follow a link to their site.

The iOS and Android app

The app ships without analytics and advertising storage, so there is nothing non-essential to consent to and no consent prompt appears. It stores only your preferences on the device. The app does not use the Advertising Identifier and does not track you across other companies' apps or sites, which is what we declare in App Store privacy and Google Play data safety.

How to change your choice

Open cookie settings at any time from the link in the footer, or with the button below. Your choice is remembered on each device and browser you use, and we ask again if the categories change materially.

You can also clear site data or block cookies in your browser settings. Doing so resets your preferences and the consent record, so you will be asked again on your next visit.

How long it lasts

  • Consent record: 12 months, then we ask again.
  • Preferences such as units and saved viewpoints: until you clear them.
  • Analytics storage: up to 12 months, aggregated.
  • Third party cookies from embeds and partners: set by that provider under their own policy.
