How the score works

Why we don't just show cloud cover.

Standard weather APIs report cloud cover, but Fuji visibility depends on more than that. Our model fuses four signals.

Cloud cover

Averaged across the day from hourly readings. Heavy weight in the score.

Wind

Direction shown for each day. North winds tend to clear haze off the Pacific.

Humidity

Below 60% relative humidity gives the crispest distant edges around Fuji.

Precipitation

Rain probability drags the score down even when cloud cover looks moderate.

Long range

Best months to see Fuji.

December to February has the highest clear day rate, with crisp dry air and a freshly snow capped peak. April to June brings cherry blossom and lavender foregrounds at the cost of more haze.
