How to get to Lake Yamanaka (Yamanakako)

Yamanakako sits at 980 m and is the highest of the Fuji Five Lakes. In October and February the sun sets directly behind the summit, the famous Diamond Fuji.

Yamanakako is reached by the same train route as Kawaguchiko, then a 25 minute Fujikyu bus from Kawaguchiko Station. Highway buses from Shinjuku also run straight to Yamanakako Asahigaoka.
