Arakurayama Sengen Park
About this viewpoint
Arakurayama Sengen Park is the broader hillside that hosts Chureito Pagoda. The lower terraces offer sweeping panoramas of Fujiyoshida town with Fuji rising directly behind, ideal for wide angle compositions when the pagoda deck is full.
Different from the pagoda?
The pagoda deck frames Fuji tightly. The lower park gives a wider environmental shot with rooftops, neon and rail lines, more like a Tokyo skyline composition.
Best season
Late March cherry blossoms below the pagoda. November momiji along the switchback. Winter dawn for the cleanest air.
Photographer tips
- The lower viewing deck has space for tripods even in peak season.
- Combine with the Fuji-Q Highland skyline for a contemporary contrast.
- Bring layers, the hillside is exposed and cold before sunrise.
