Direct highway bus from Shinjuku Bus Terminal to Gotemba Premium Outlets in 100 minutes. By rail take JR Tokaido to Kozu, Gotemba Line to Gotemba Station, then a free 15 minute shuttle.

Japan's largest outlet mall sits directly under Mt Fuji on the Gotemba side. Two zones, 290 plus brands, tax free counters and the Fuji Sky Lift Ferris wheel for an elevated view.
Best Fuji view
The bridge between East and West zones gives the cleanest Fuji angle. The Fuji Sky Lift Ferris wheel adds 50 m of elevation. Morning has fewer clouds on the summit.
Tax free
Most major stores process tax free at the till for tourists, minimum 5,000 yen per shop per day. Bring passport. Some stores process at a central counter near the food court.

Combine with Hakone, the Fuji Speedway museum, or an afternoon at Kawaguchiko. Buses link Gotemba to all three.
